Cheer’s To Super Bowl 50

This Sunday, February 7th., is the 50th. year that a Super Bowl game will be played. 2016 marks a major anniversary for the big game, so why not celebrate?

Whether you simply enjoy watching the game or you just enjoy getting together with friends and eating some delicious greasy food, then check out my 4 tips for throwing a great Super Bowl 50 party.

Feast On Delicious & Indulgent Treats

One of the main highlights, aside from the game, is the food that’s usually served at a Super Bowl party. Super Bowl is a time to get together with friends and just have fun, so be sure to have plenty of treats on hand for your guests. You can never go wrong by serving bar food such as sliders, nachos, chicken wings, tacos, chips and guacamole, or basically anything fried. You can serve all the food buffet-style so people can take as little or as much as they would like.

Don’t Forget The Drinks

Be sure to have variety of drinks on hand for the big game. Drink menu option should include a selection of craft beers, sports lagers, and a specialty cocktail. Don’t forget to have plenty of ice available, that will come in handy throughout the party. Also, take a tip from TV personality, Camila Alves, who suggests setting up a bar cart next to the seating area for quick drink refills.

Get Creative

Sometimes half the fun of throwing a Super Bowl party is setting up the decor and utilizing your creative skills. Most party supply stores will have lots of decorations for you to choose from for your Super Bowl 50 party. Decor items such as mini football helmet toppers to place on top of drinks, in addition to other supplies such as bags of football confetti, tassel garland in your favorite team’s colors, football banners, etc. make for great decorations. There also plenty of DIY websites with instructions on how to create fun party accessories such as DIY glitter foam fingers.

Also, save yourself time and money by sending out an e-vite, instead of printed invitations. There are lots of websites such as evite.com that provide fun Super Bowl invite templates for users to get creative with.

Alternate Halftime Shows

This year’s Super Bowl 50 halftime show will include performances from Beyonce and Coldplay. There’s even a rumor that Bruno Mars maybe joining them on stage! However, if none of those performers are your cup of tea, don’t worry because there are alternate halftime shows for you and your guests to enjoy. Animal Planet will be airing its 11th. annual Puppy Bowl and Hallmark Channel will be airing its 2nd. Kitten Bowl. Flip to either of those network’s to enjoy some puppy and kitten fun!
